I am Kim Jong-hyeok, the chair of Gimpo City Council.
I will do my utmost best to lead the city council to realize the hopes and dreams of the 520,000 citizens of Gimpo City.
In 2025, the 8th Gimpo City Council is committed to being the regional parliament that practices openness, working-level activities, professionalism, and sympathy to become the “council that realizes the hopes of the citizens” rather than staying as a mere legislative organ of the region.
First, we will rekindle the spirit of win-win cooperation between the two major parties.
I will recognize the differences in opinions between the parties and endeavor to foster cooperation by finding the best way to close the gaps. I will strive to foster an environment of mutual respect, understanding, and reconciliation.
Second, I will have sincere communication with the people.
As Gimpo City Council exists for the people of Gimpo, it is critical to listen to the thoughts and opinions of the people. To discover the wants and difficulties of the people, we will venture into your lives, see the difficulties you face, and listen to your voices.
Third, we will ensure close coordination with the administration department.
The council and the administration department are the wings and wheels that fly and drive Gimpo City. With a balanced and harmonized cooperation system, we will ensure a faster and more upright advancement of the city for the people's happiness.
“The World we create reflects the flow of our thoughts. Without changing our thoughts, we cannot change the world.” As the sage’s wisdom says, we live in a time when innovative thoughts with a whole new paradigm are essential.
Even at the harshest ordeals, we must create new values through continuous communications and gather wisdom with respect for diversity to open a new horizon for Gimpo City.
Gimpo City Council will continue to work tirelessly to draw visible achievements in various projects, including the Seoul Metro Line No. 5 Gimp-Geomdan Route Extension Project, securing of the Metro Line No. 2 and 9 extension for a better metropolitan public transportation network, the Hangang 2 Compact City Development Project, vitalization of the regional economy, the establishment of cultural, welfare, and sport infrastructure, and more.
